Philip Norman was born in New Zealand but has lived in London for many years. For over 45 years, he has dedicated himself to work in the field of cultural heritage and the arts. His activities include archaeological research for the Museum of London, involvement in creating scenography for film projects, and curatorial roles at the Garden Museum and in the Lambeth Council archives, where he works on exhibition preparation and content.
In the 1990s, Philip joined the Quilt Project, now known as the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt Project, which was exhibited at Tate Modern in June of this year. He also assisted artist Rebecca Louise Law in creating her installation La Fleur Morte, presented this year at London’s Saatchi Gallery.
It is worth noting that most of these initiatives are volunteer projects for Philip, as he works not for material reward, but out of a sincere devotion to art and culture, which, he says, is his true source of happiness.
