British-American actress, founder, and director of the production company Corbett Productions.
EDUCATION
Studied acting at The Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, and later at the prestigious Juilliard School.
DIRECTION
Carmela has performed on the stages of leading West End theatres in London, as well as in New York and Los Angeles. On screen, the actress can be seen as Lola in the BBC series Undercover and in the final season of the cult series Mad Men.
AWARDS AND HONOURS
Carmela's screenplay projects have repeatedly been selected for the official selection of leading international competitions, including HollyShorts (qualified for the Oscar), Sundance New Voices Lab, ScreenCraft, Shore Scripts, and Write LA.
ACTIVITIES
In October 2020, Carmela wrote, produced, and starred in the British short film Her Majesty, which was presented at prestigious film festivals qualifying for the Oscars and BAFTAs – LA Shorts 2021 and BFI London Film Festival 2022. She is currently working on a feature-length documentary about the impact of war on the lives of Ukrainian artists.
