The BACH Choir, together with Nataliia Khmilevska, the choir's concertmaster Natalia Fomenko and guest musicians from Open Opera Ukraine, invite guests of Bouquet Kyiv Stage 2024 to enjoy the diversity of English musical culture from the 16th century, the time of Henry VIII, to The Beatles.
The Beatles' songs will be presented in a unique arrangement specially created for the BACH Choir by Ukrainian composer Victoria Shynkarenko. These arrangements reflect the affinity between baroque and contemporary songs of England.
The programme of the concert: Henry VIII Tudor, John Dowland, The Beatles, Henry Purcell, Thomas Morley.
The Baroque Amateur Choir BACH is a community of creative people united by a passion for choral singing and baroque music. It is a part of the Open Opera Ukraine project, a leading public organisation dedicated to the development of baroque amateur music.
Amateur choirs and ensembles have long been a significant part of the cultural map of the world. For Ukraine, this practice is new, yet it is developing apace. Kyiv is currently experiencing a rise in amateur choirs.
