In the Orbit of Pierre Boulez
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the composer’s birth

In the spring of 2025, the world marks the centenary of the birth of the prominent French composer, conductor, musical figure, and educator Pierre Boulez — one of the leading voices of the postwar European avant-garde as early as the 1950s. His creative, performing, and organizational contributions to the development and popularization of contemporary classical music are truly remarkable.
In his new anniversary program In the Orbit of Pierre Boulez, pianist Yevhen Hromov offers a meticulously curated exploration. On one hand, the program traces Boulez’s artistic origins, influences, and performance preferences; on the other, it highlights the direct impact of his compositional legacy on younger, progressively minded colleagues — including Ukrainian composers.
