Pavlo Sheremeta is an economist, founder of the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, and former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. In 2025, he joined the Defense Forces of Ukraine, becoming a serviceman of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khartiia.”

His journey — from reforming the economy and institutions to directly taking part in the defense of his country — offers a perspective on war not only as a struggle for survival, but also as a time of profound renewal. Sheremeta speaks about the need to transform not only the army, but also the way we think: from passive waiting to responsibility, the ability to act, create, and prevail.
