A book is perhaps the purest and deepest embodiment of spiritual beauty in a functional form. It is unique in its ability to unite the tangible and the intangible so closely that they cannot be separated.
The Keeper of the SoulA book is materialized thought, emotion, experience, and the inner world of its author, entrusted to paper. As we turn its pages, we encounter another person's soul speaking to us across time and space.
A book is far more than a practical object—it is a path to spiritual growth. It has the power to comfort, awaken compassion, inspire kindness, transform our worldview, and bring emotional clarity.
Artist Olha Samar's workshop, "The Source of Spiritual Beauty," is a practical exploration of the idea that true harmony is born where inner beauty—our values, memories, and inner light—meets external aesthetics expressed through form, line, and the texture of materials.
When this harmony finds a functional expression, it becomes an object we naturally want to use every day. A handmade pocket journal becomes a personal space where the beauty of its cover and paper meets the depth of human thoughts, ideas, and memories.
GOALTo create a handmade mini journal that combines refined visual aesthetics with meaningful personal content—a place to preserve special moments, reflections, and memories.
IDEASpiritual beauty is just as important as visual beauty, and together they create genuine harmony expressed through an object of everyday use. Through the tactile experience of high-quality materials and the meditative process of traditional bookbinding, participants will create a pocket-sized space for what matters most—their own thoughts, ideas, and stories.
