Let’s talk about Ukrainian intellectuals, the postwar period, and European contexts.
Because we have been here before: after the Second World War, our artists and thinkers found themselves beyond the borders of Ukrainian lands, yet continued their diverse activities — reflecting on an anxious present and an extremely uncertain future.

What does all this look like today? What in their experiences and reflections might be of use in our current historical moment? We will discuss the significant visions of self and Europe from that time, and also how art not only mirrors the present but also anticipates the future — influencing the course of events and shaping the scenarios of what is to come. Sometimes, or perhaps usually?
