Shelby Wilder is a journalist, international correspondent, and documentary filmmaker covering wars, humanitarian crises, and human stories in different parts of the world. A significant part of her work in recent years has focused on Ukraine — from the lives of civilians and the work of emergency responders to the stories of Ukrainian soldiers and the struggle to preserve the country’s cultural heritage.

Through her camera and journalism, she captures not only the event itself, but above all the person within it — their fear, courage, loss, dignity, and ability to keep living. Her documentary about Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital bears witness to the ways war transforms the lives of children and those who fight every day to save them.

Her presence under the Ash Tree is an invitation to talk about the power of bearing witness: about the responsibility of those who see, and about the ability to tell the truth in a way that ensures the real human story does not disappear behind the facts.

Admission requires a ticket to the territory of the Sofia Kyivska National Conservation Area (UAH 500 — full price; UAH 250 — reduced price).
