Orchestral Landscapes: Shypovych, Yanovsky
This concert opens one of the most fascinating chapters of Ukrainian music of the first third of the 20th century — an era when a new compositional school was emerging, capable of thinking on a grand scale, with boldness and a European outlook. It was a time of great hopes, artistic experiments, and dramatic historical transformations.
The works presented in the programme reveal the richness of Ukrainian orchestral music, where the Romantic tradition meets modernist exploration, and national character is combined with openness to new artistic ideas.
This concert is not only an opportunity to discover rare pages of Ukrainian musical heritage, but also a chance to hear how, nearly a century ago, Ukrainian composers envisioned the future of their culture — bold, contemporary, and inseparable from the European artistic landscape.
