An ensemble of new music founded in Kyiv in 1999 by composer Serhii Piliutikov.
EDUCATION
The ensemble’s members are graduates of Ukrainian music academies.
AWARDS AND HONORS
The ensemble was awarded a Presidential Grant of Ukraine and recorded music for the media art project by artist I. Galan, “Orchestra — A New Reality.”
REPERTOIRE
Over 25 years, the ensemble has performed music written over the last 100 years, including works by Schönberg, Stockhausen, Górecki, Xenakis, Boulez, Tsypkolenko, Messiaen, Lachenmann, Hrabovsky, Sokachyk, Kyyanytsia, Merchel, and others.
INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY
The ensemble regularly collaborates with the Gaudeamus Contemporary Music Centre, Donemus Publishing, Pro Helvetia, and the Embassy of Austria in Ukraine, through which it organized a series of concerts of contemporary Dutch and Swedish composers in Ukraine, and also performed Arnold Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire.
It has participated in international festivals such as Days of New Music (Moldova) and Ohrid Summer Festival (North Macedonia), and presented an author concert of composer Valentyn Silvestrov in Hamburg (Germany).
