Honored Artist of Ukraine, musician, composer, producer, educator, and founder of the Jazz Kolo project. This initiative is dedicated to supporting Ukrainian jazz, uniting musicians, and developing Ukrainian improvisational music.

EDUCATION
Graduated from the Lviv Music College and Conservatory (oboe class).

REPERTOIRE
His discography includes eight solo albums featuring renowned European, American, and Ukrainian musicians. The release of his ninth album is scheduled for autumn 2026.

ARTISTIC ACTIVITY
For many years, Ihor Zakus has been regarded as one of Ukraine’s leading bass guitarists. He performs on 4-, 5-, and 6-string fretted and fretless bass guitars, as well as acoustic bass, demonstrating outstanding technique and a distinctive personal sound.
