The Film Programme "Kyiv Film Bouquet"
Those who are interested in contemporary Ukrainian cinema or just want to get acquainted with it should plan for it all the evenings from 17 to 25 August, 2019. On these days, the #BouquetKyivStage film screenings will be held in the Golden Gate Museum. The film curators Andrii Rizol and Volodymyr Voitenko have prepared a truly exciting programme. Every day you will have a unique opportunity to watch a collection of short films from a particular film festival, film award or film project. But the audience will be shown a thematic selection "Kyiv Film Bouquet" only on August 17, 2019.
This is a bouquet of Ukrainian films in which our city is somehow presented. Among the films are: "Anna" by Olesia Sanina, "May" and "In an Objective Way" by Viktor Pryduvalov, "Kyiv History" by Mykhailo Masloboishchykov, "The Clown" by Oleksandr Kiriienko, "The Usual Morning" by Kadim Tarasov, and "Early in the Morning" by Volodymyr Tychyi.
All these films are very different in mood, style, rhythm, and thus form a heterogeneous but interesting and ambient mix. For example, Volodymyr Tychyi's film "Early in the Morning" is an adaptation of a fragment from Yurii Andrukhovych's novel "Recreations". The scene is laid on St. Andrew's Descent. The viewer is confronted with an interesting reflection, provocative aesthetics, and straightforward stylistics: generally overt things that make one think about his or her own personality. This is a film from the anthology "Assholes. Arabesques" (2010) in which various directors outline the problem of the nation's cultural identity
